— How This Course Is Built

Not a Device Tutorial.
A Clinical Reasoning Course.

You already know what these lasers do. What you cannot get from a manual or a manufacturer rep is how an expert decides — where to deviate from protocol, when to stop, and what to combine. That is the entire day.

01

Fundamentals Happen Before You Arrive

A required pre-course module covers wavelengths, chromophores, Fitzpatrick considerations, contraindications, and baseline device safety. Nothing on course day is spent on entry-level content — the room starts at an advanced level and stays there.

02

Case-Based, Not Device-Based

Every block opens with a real patient: history, photos, skin type, goals. You commit to a treatment plan out loud before Dr. Saami reveals his. Then he executes and walks through the difference. This is how residents are taught, and it is why the reasoning sticks.

03

Endpoints Called Out Live

Knowing when to stop is the skill that separates competent from excellent, and it cannot be learned from a settings chart. Dr. Saami narrates endpoints as they appear — pinpoint bleeding, tissue contraction, chamois color, erythema quality — on real tissue, in real time.

04

Every Setting Documented

A dedicated clinical scribe records every parameter Dr. Saami uses, on every patient, along with the reasoning behind each deviation. You leave with the actual numbers — not the manufacturer's starting recommendations.

— The Day, Hour by Hour

Course Agenda

The day moves from the most aggressive modality to the most refined — deep ablative resurfacing in the morning while everyone is freshest, progressing through fractional, hybrid, and light-based work into targeted lesion treatment.

This agenda is preliminary and subject to change. Because these are live patient cases, timing, sequence, and specific treatments may shift based on model availability and clinical findings on the day. A confirmed agenda will be sent to enrolled participants before the course.

Participants without the Contour TRL add-on should arrive by 11:15 AM and join the group at the chair at 11:30 AM for the Halo Tribrid neck and chest treatment, then continue through the close.

Arrival & Welcome

Check-in, breakfast, laser safety orientation for the day, and room ground rules. Eye protection issued. Please arrive between 7:30 and 8:00 AM — we move to the treatment room promptly at 8:00.

8:00 AM30 MIN

Case One — Anesthesia, Room Setup & Settings Walkthrough

The day starts at the chair, because a full-face Contour patient needs time to numb. Consent, pre-medication, and the layered anesthesia protocol, narrated step by step as the patient is prepared. Plume and thermal management, staffing roles inside the room, and a full walkthrough of the parameters before the first pass — including what would change them.

Contour TRL Didactic & Case Conference

While the anesthesia takes effect, Dr. Saami's Contour TRL didactic, then the case: history, photographs, skin type, goals, and prior treatment. You build and commit to a plan. Dr. Saami then presents his — depth selection, zonal mapping, and why he pairs full-face Contour with Halo Tribrid on the neck and chest — and explains where and why the two plans differ.

Contour TRL — Live Full-Face Resurfacing

The flagship case: full-face ablative resurfacing at depth, narrated pass by pass. Handpiece angle, direction of travel, overlap, feathering into the hairline and jawline, periorbital and perioral modifications, and how zonal depth changes across a single face. Small-group rotation ensures direct sightlines at the chair.

Halo Tribrid — Live Neck & Chest Treatment

The same patient, continued below the jawline. Three wavelengths in one handpiece — Halo's 1470 and 2940 nm plus MOXI's 1927 nm — and why the neck and chest call for a different approach than the face: lower density, adjusted depth, and blending the treated zones so the transition at the jawline is invisible. Masterclass participants join the group here.

Endpoint Assessment & Post-Operative Protocol

Endpoint evaluation with the whole group at the chair. Dressing and occlusive strategy for face, neck, and chest; the day 1 through day 14 recovery timeline; red flags; patient scripting; and what to tell a patient before they ever book this treatment.

Case Two & ProFractional + Laser-Assisted Drug Delivery — Live Surgical Scar Revision

A surgical scar, treated with ProFractional followed by laser-assisted drug delivery. Depth and density selection for a linear, often tethered scar, what is delivered through the channels and why, and how timing relative to the original surgery changes the plan. Scar work is a series, not a single treatment, and it is planned differently from rejuvenation.

Case Three & ProFractional + Laser-Assisted Drug Delivery — Live Acne Scar Revision

The same technology on a different problem. Acne scarring by morphology — ice pick, boxcar, rolling — and how depth, density, and the delivered agent change from the surgical case you just watched. Session count, interval spacing, and setting realistic expectations for a multi-session series.

Case Four & Halo Tribrid — Live Full-Face Treatment

Halo Tribrid back on the face, on a new patient. Where the morning's neck and chest work was about blending below the jawline, this case is about building a full-face plan: how the 1470, 2940, and 1927 nm components are weighted for this patient's concerns, density against downtime, and where a hybrid treatment fits between the ProFractional work you just saw and the light-based stacking that follows.

Case Five & BBL HEROic → MOXI — Live Stacked Treatment

The stacking block. Two modalities on one face in a single visit — why this order and not the reverse, how cumulative thermal load is budgeted across a session, filter selection logic, how settings — and candidacy — change as skin type rises, and where the combination stops being additive and starts being risky.

Case Six & ClearV / ClearSilk — Targeted Lesion Work

Two fast, high-yield treatments most practices underuse. ClearV for cherry angiomas and facial vessels, with an immediate visible endpoint you can learn to recognize. ClearSilk for onychomycosis — a different patient population, a different revenue model, and a treatment series worth building into your menu.

Capstone — Build the Protocol

A patient you have not seen. Working from photographs and history, you build the full annual treatment architecture: which devices, in what order, how many sessions, spaced how, and priced how. Dr. Saami critiques each plan live.

— Technologies Covered

Every Modality, On a Live Patient

Seven treatments across the Sciton platform. Every one demonstrated on a real patient by Dr. Saami — not on a model arm, not on video.

Contour TRL

Full-Face Ablative Resurfacing

Deep full-field ablation. Zonal depth mapping, anesthesia protocol, pass technique, endpoint recognition, and the recovery course you must be prepared to manage.

ProFractional

Scar Revision

Surgical and acne scars, each paired with laser-assisted drug delivery. Depth and density selection by scar morphology, what goes through the channels, and series planning.

Halo Tribrid

Three-Wavelength Face, Neck & Chest Resurfacing

Halo's 1470 and 2940 nm plus MOXI's 1927 nm in one handpiece, demonstrated twice: on the neck and chest alongside full-face Contour, and as a full-face case of its own in the afternoon. How each is weighted, density against downtime, and blending treated zones at the jawline.

BBL HEROic

Broadband Light

Filter selection logic rather than filter charts. Corrective versus conditioning strategy, how settings and candidacy change as skin type rises, and HERO parameters.

MOXI

Non-Ablative Fractional

Demonstrated as the second half of a stacked treatment — sequencing, cumulative thermal load, and where it fits in a maintenance protocol.

ClearV

Vascular & Angiomas

Targeted lesion work with an immediate visible endpoint. Cherry angiomas and facial vessels — fast, high-margin, and consistently underused.

ClearSilk

Onychomycosis

A different patient population and a different revenue model. Treatment series structure, realistic expectation setting, and menu integration.

Stacking Strategy

Woven Throughout

What combines safely, in what order, and what does not. Same-day versus staged sequencing, and how to build a treatment plan across a full year.

— What You Leave With

Ready to Use on Monday

Advanced training is only worth what you can still apply six months later. Everything below is designed to survive the drive home.

  • Complete Settings Documentation

Every parameter used on every patient during the day, captured live by a dedicated clinical scribe — with the reasoning behind each deviation from standard protocol, not just the numbers.

  • Annual Protocol Framework

A structure for sequencing modalities across a treatment year rather than selling single treatments — the difference between a patient who books once and a patient who books for a decade.

  • Stacking Reference

What combines, in what order, with what interval — and the combinations Dr. Saami will not perform, with the reasoning behind each.

  • Complication Playbook

Real cases from Dr. Saami's own practice: what went wrong, what he did, what he would do differently. Including the patients he declines and why.

  • Consultation & Consent Materials

Patient selection criteria, consent language, pre-treatment preparation, and the post-operative scripting SOM uses for ablative recovery.

Before You Arrive

Enrolled participants receive a required pre-course workbook approximately two weeks before the date, with four practice cases to work through before arriving and a short online knowledge check. Completing it is a prerequisite — it is what allows the entire day to be spent on advanced clinical judgment rather than fundamentals. Plan for roughly 45 minutes.
